..health is wealth ....

..my life with gym and workouts have given me an active life style ..but taken an xtra time is devoted to GYM
Health have always been a top priority ..I have been exercising for years now but not strictly following the gym routine but now ..an hour every day .. Burst training to weights .. toning myself ..
Motivation is a factor .. where do we get the drive to go for those strnenous exercises ?
..one cannot be motivated  unless  he or she is in the show business .. my case I'm associated with fashion industry but thats not the drive... my thing was blood work or physical exam ..shows your well being and what needs to be improved... in my case where my levels were going on higher side .. I thought not only to get rid of extra five pounds but keep myself away from any pills for future..trust me its very hard to get into form and loose like twenty pounds ..cut down on carbs and no sugar .. wheat is considered culprit to increase weight and form wheat belly ..
I took time to go through health journals and following healthy diet .. which was salad a day one big meal of salad with proteins ..
switching to complex carbs and bye bye to wheat ... no sugar (  never had sugar craving) switch to black coffee or tea .. so then what was a sub to wheat?
I switched to a mix of bajra, jowar, besan and soya .. ate one "Roti"..which is very filling ..
breakfast no bread bagels or waffles .. sub was again pancakes made with gram flour and fresh yogurt ..
and egg white..
dinner I usually eat lot of salad before meal and then indulge to home made lentil or veggie .. or baked chicken
... The whole thing takes time to adjust for body .. but not only that it gives you different prospective ..we as punjabis have food culture at home .. home made .. and one cannot ignore or get away with a result you have to indulge .. so basically you have to make your own choice .. best for weight and health ...
Vacations are another part where you have to see whats available ..a healthy option apart from salads ..well there is baked chicken or fish with salad.. rest all is very high carb food..
its annoying at times ..why am I doing that?? am I suffering from some disease ??No..its to avoid any disease .. .. plus its a healthy choice... for how long?
well .. I do take a slice of bread at times .. if ever I really want not depriving myself
.. the bottom line is .. life does not give you everything a little sacrifice for well being is worth million dollars later spending in clinics or health center.
..Yes people do ask me how did you do it? my tips below

TIPS
SWITCH TO COMPLEX CARBS
no wheat or white stuff ...
more of bran ,salad , Indian food has variety of flour
I use mix of jowar , Bajra , besan I m a non-vegetarian so I have cut down on soya.. to make my dough ..

* NO SUGAR FOR LIFE
no sugar in any drinks , substitute with stevia initially and then no sugar at all
cravings?
take a very small bite ..if you have
if you stop taking sugar .. its like you never go back .. body rejects

* EXERCISE
Gym 50 mins four days a week ..
if you skip gym then walk for 50 mins
Burst training ..running on tread mill for a 2 minutes at high speed as per your capacity and take a break for 30 seconds ..keeping an eye on the heart rate
Weight training toning up.
stretches and bench exercises for flexibility
SALADS
*A big portion of salad once a day..intially to loose weight accompanied any baked chicken or fish ..or stir fried veggies
*WATER
lots of water .. keep it on the night stand..
SLEEP
* lots of good sleep at night
BALANCE YOUR MEALS
*if one meal is heavy or includes unwanted stuff .. balance other meal with veggies or salads
or baked dishes ..avoid cream based stuff..
..it takes 7to 8 months to reduce 20 pounds ..
and maintaining its like a lifestyle forever

yet to digest !

Sometimes I think I get to meet all kinds of people...some are really hard to believe.... they have different opinion  when we talk about the modern world ..less work , simplify life ..add meaning to your living..
This American women I met at work shared her personal stuff  and I was astonished ..
A Super mom I would say .. mother to 11 kids :)
I'm like really ?? she was like "I love my house n my kids" ..youngest being nine months and oldest 18 yrs ..
I said you are a super mom .. she was like ,No my mom is a super mom we are 22 siblings...
I was like Wow !!what an effort ;-) she was like..my mom is fit, drives  back and fourth says,you should be fit and active , look at me I raised 22 kids and still going strong and very
happy to visit each one of you.
& you lazy bones ..jus 11 kids and drained out .. I'm like really? I have two and my hands are full. 
she like really just two?
yep ..I'm I not super women ;-) 

me :how do you manage your earnings with 11 kids?
she :its not hard God has made way and food for everybody .. Church helps a lot and most of our stuff even groceries are taken care .. older kids take care of younger one 's 
me :do you work?
she :part time, my husband is a mechanic . 
.. me : you are happy? 
She :yes .. these kids are my world :-)

people who have no Kids or people who have many kids are ones stand out among us. 
I salute these moms who raise 11 kids in today's world and love to share their stories with me .

no I'm not inspired to have more kids ..

what to eat?

With so many do's and dont's .. there stands a contradiction .,, what's good for health ..are we left with any options ?? lets filter options..
Totally confused ...
Sugar .. bad for health and increases weight .. one gets prone to diabetes
salt ..excess salt or extra salt leads to Blood pressure ..keep salt low it keeps away water retention.
Oil : don't use lot of oil in cooking .. less oil ..or oil-less cooking (the best)
Butter :no no A BIG NO.,, its not good for health .. leads to cholesterol
Veggies : vegetables if cooked right with little crispness is the best .. raw veggies are the best form of vitamins and nutrients ..saute them.. don't let them loose color. (who eats that raw crap?)
 Wheat flour/refined flour : wheat flour has lot of sugar .. so one gets a wheat belly,, so try not eating wheat ..Also said  its not required if we have less of physical activity ..
Rice: white rice is bad .. brown rice is fine but in moderation.
Refined flour :absolutely No its bad for health .
Meat /chicken :less or no meat is best .. one gets healthier and has more active life style..Vegans stands for purity .
Milk : well, milk has cholesterol .. drink 0% fat free milk or try Soya a healthier option.
so no milk too
Yogurt :its good but less intake as its pure cholesterol build up.. though  a good source of calcium.
Cheese : no cheese, its not good for health ..increases weight ..for people with higher cholesterol should be a big NO
Water is good ?  YES its excellent drink (drink water only ..live on water)
tea/coffee: one cup only caffeine not good... for health
These are necessities of life ..food ..GOOD FOOD



Luxuries in food
Ice-cream: no its tasty but lots of sugar cream .. not good try less or a spoon,(why a spoon and crave for more ..dont't eat)
sweets : its like slow poisoning Indian sweets or chocolates ..forget that too

so ..basically this is what  the health journals say all the time ..
jus keep up with mobility ,exercise ..gym  ,, when it comes to food .. eat raw stuff ..
.. a person will die in both ways .. why not jus eat everything but in moderation...
take a plunge , indulge and live life in a healthy way ..eat ,exercise ,sleep well  and never crave for good food again !!

Beautiful Eyes



People .. blessed by God or good genes .. with beautiful eyes .. not everyone can get that special look and exterior unless God willing..

rest .. I always believe .. its you fate and destiny with hard work thats important not just looks ..cause nothing works when it gets in competitive world of fashion or work or even academic background ..

sometimes best dont get that opportunity where as an  average swings ahead ..
